My 3 rules that I teach to the kids, well strictly not mine as they are taken from my instructor. These rules are the foundations of martial arts and should be taken into everything that you do.
Breathing deep gives you a sense of calming, sends oxygen to the brain, helps anxiety and over time will make you healthier.
Standing tall instantly makes you feel better about yourself, more confident and is much better for people’s posture. This is getting even more important nowadays with the use of mobile phones and other technology which keeps us looking down at screens.
Focusing your mind can only be fully achieved when you apply the other 2 rules. With so many distractions going on in this fast world it is not surprising that so many people don’t know how to focus anymore. By consciously becoming aware of how well you are focusing will help aid concentration and be able to deal better with tasks at hand.
These 3 rules aren’t complicated but do take practice to bring about into your everyday lives but in becoming mindful of our breathing, posture and to learn to fully focus on what is going on in the moment will pay dividends in the long run.
Another martial saying rings in my ears which is Simple is not easy.
